Name: Course: College: Tutor: Date: Description of the Project The occurrence under deliberation is an individual commemoration to mark an anniversary for the corporation. The project is envisaged to attain varied objectives such as to inspire the employees, underscore the expansion of the business, compensate the human resources so as to realize increase in the company’s production and encourage competitiveness in the future (Hansen, 2005). From the viewpoint of the company, the celebration serves to express gratitude to the staff for the excellent work which they did in the past. Additionally, the celebration shall serve to bring together in an unofficial setting the board of directors, the administration and the workers to enable them know each other well How a 25% reduction of the Project time affect the Project Plans Project stakeholders are important persons of the company and an integral function of this project. If the project time frame is reduced by 25% then it means that the effectiveness of functions would also be reduced. For instance the board of directors has a particular time frame in which they are supposed to deliberate on issues and come up with cognizant answers. If their time of deliberations is reduced then you can be sure that their findings would be hurried and therefore not satisfactory. Since the board is actually responsible to ensure that necessary resources for the celebrations are available then shortening the time of this anniversary by 25% would mean that the resources are underutilized which would be an overhead cost on the organization. (Hansen, 2005). Areas of the Project that were affected and their scheduling and budget Planning is highly affected since it would require that what had been put forward is now rescheduled to use less time. This is because the range of a project encompasses not just directing but planning as well to ensure the success of commemorating this individual anniversary of the company. (Nonaka, 2005) Areas that were affected by the reduction in time of the project included distribution of food staff; These was to be done within an hour’s time but since the time had been reduced then it meant doing it in 45 minutes an exercise that was hurried therefore resulting in some people complaining to not have been given food. (Nonaka, 2005) There were T-shirts that were being distributed for only $10 but this could not reach all the guests because the time had been reduced considerably. People who had ordered for avatar sunglasses had a hectic time obtaining them since some of them could not get to the stands in time to get them now that the program was running under tight schedule. The people in management would have their views held in high esteem on how to run the celebrations since they directly report to the board of directors briefing them on the project progress. They are in an important position as a link between the employees and the directors thus giving both sides feedback on project progress and unanswered questions on the sides of employees. They also direct all efforts that make the project a success through coming up with the concept of celebration and picking the targeted audience. (Hansen, 2005). While revising the project schedule employees would play an integral part since the project is all about the company’s performance a part that is at the center of employees and thus there opinions would be held in high esteem. Because the main goal of bringing stakeholders together is to ensure that they interact and come up with clear cut objectives that will ensure the company’s growth is highlighted, bring out competition in the future and appreciate employs who are the people behind this growth. For the project to be a success the committee spear heading its implementation should be made up of persons from both within and without the company in order to get ideas from people who have seen success elsewhere and would thus want to implement it here. For future realization of the goals of such a project various activities would have to be done through making the project pass through various phases that would start with the commencement phase, followed by scheduling, implementation, organizing and closeout. This project would have to be implemented by committee members who are the union representative, Board of director’s representative, advertising agency representative, Advertising Manager, Sales Manager and Publicity director headed by a general chairman. In all these explanations one factor remains dominant; all relevant details for successful project implementation may accompany a project which include good management, a relevant statement of the problem, planning that is detailed yet still end up failing. This means that the application of project management expertise, its skills and tools is not a guarantee of success rather it determines the probability of one succeeding. And this is again dependant on the environs in which these tenets are applied. It’s important to note that how a project manager perceives the setting of the environment and responds to an event while processing data and interacting with key stakeholders will determine the success of the project at hand. (Wilson, 2005) For projects to be successful one must make up their minds to focus on how they would take an action and approach the problem solving in a situation of team work for the sake of team building rather than a one man show approach. This can only be achieved if all the relevant stakeholders in a project would start to develop an appreciation of other individual members of the team contributions rather than drawing them back. There should also be a way in which each member of the team would safely reallocate another member responsibility without causing jitters. (Wilson, 2005) During the establishment of the project committee members should be chosen in regard to particular skills they have that would be relevant to the project at hand. For success in project management the four functions of management should be the pillars of the project at hand these are planning, controlling, leading and organizing. Once the project Manager is aware of the team building style and the kind of environment in which the project is implemented then there would be a lot of cost effectiveness in implementing the project.
