Domino’s Pizza Company Letter of Transmittal Dear Sir, Kindly find the detailed part of the report you commissioned to kick off on 11th May, 2014 on the research based on dominos Pizza Company located in Saudi Arabia. It is prudent for me to note the following findings of the report: That Dominos Pizza Company incorporates Dominos PULSE point-of-sale system which improves its operation efficiencies provides corporate management system with easy access to financial marketing data with an objective of reducing time consumption and expenses (Bized, 2010). That Dominos Pizza Company has a centralized buying department with centralized strategic stores to facilitate easy purchase and deliveries efficiency (Bized, 2010). That the company has consistency and quality of products they sale across the country. All their food and services are of quality by the fact that their employees are regularly trained to offer best services (Bized, 2010). That Dominos Pizza Company also uses its larger buying power to procure its suppliers thus hit the economy of scale concept that gives it a better price bargaining power with suppliers (Bized, 2010). Based of the findings, it should be noted that the senior managing director of Dominos pizza in Saudi Arabia was out of reach during the interview. However, I would like to acknowledge the assistance offered to us by the team members and some of the top managers of the company who allowed us to interview them. Finally, my warm gratitude’s is to you for allowing me to explore much by researching Dominos pizza company and familiarizing myself with exceptional business strategies the company used to grow. This has enhanced my research skills that will be much valuable in other future projects. Regards. Introduction Domino’s Pizza Company of Saudi Arabia was initially founded in the year 1960 as part of the international Domino pizza group (Bized, 2010). This company is also known to be the world leader in pizza deliveries and the company operates a network of company-owned and Franchise-owned stores in Saudi Arabia (Bized, 2010). In the larger Saudi Arabia, it is absolutely sure that Domino is the most trusted and widely know leading pizza delivery. This is because; the company main objective is to ensure they are perfectly dedicated to the best services, quality production and excellent deliveries (Bized, 2010). The company is flowing on a chain of success having being built by quality services which is customer centered and effective deliveries services they offer. Notable to mention is the fact that over 1000000 people globally enjoy Domino’s pizza on daily basis by the virtue that the company holds over 10000 stores in more than 60 countries on earth (Bized, 2010). This means that the company is well established and their brand is also perfectly recognized internationally. The driving power of Domino’s Pizza Company based in Saudi Arabia is the dedication and single minded focus towards producing the best tasting pizza that is also delivered directly to the customers door (Bized, 2010). The success of the company in Saudi Arabia is entirely built upon the exceptional leadership of the team and franchisees which collectively aspire to accomplish the same mission of being the best. Background Domino’s Pizza Company is historically motivating by the virtue that it started as a small retail business which later expanded to be the world leading pizza deliveries. Tom Monaghan is the founder of the business back in 1960 that ran the business until his retirement and later he sold it in 1998 at $1 billion (Bized, 2010). It should be noted that Domino’s Company established the franchising system of operation which allowed people to invest their money and open their own pizza stores (Bized, 2010). This strategy saw Domino’s expanding globally at a higher rate until it became the largest pizza deliveries in the world and also the eighth world biggest fast food store (Bized, 2010). When it comes to Saudi Arabia, Alamar Foods is the recognized leading food and beverage company and which is also the master Franchisees of Domino’s Pizza which was first established in the year 1992 (Bized, 2010). This business has expanded and covered the entire Middle East, Pakistan and Egypt countries. The success in business saw Alamar Company grow and by the year 2012, there were more than 200 stores opened in Middle East (Bized, 2010). The success of Domino’s Pizza and Alamar in Middle East was the urge to promote one brand, one system, one world as a measure of becoming one best pizza delivery company in the region (Bized, 2010). Moreover, the company mission statement is another powerful message that reads “Exceptional people on a mission to be the best pizza delivery company in the world” (Bized, 2010). Service and Product Design When it comes to services offered, Domino’s have established or invented service system and equipment to aid in offering services that are currently being used as standard by the company globally (Dominosarabia, 2012). To begin with, the pizza business in Saudi Arabia had to attain Halal certification for all products they sale. The company also developed the unique selling preposition services (USPs); which had three pillars with the first one guaranteeing 30 minutes pizza delivery after order placement (Dominosarabia, 2012). The strategy also offered 15 minutes products take away guarantee with proper packaging and free delivery (Dominosarabia, 2012). Domino’s heat-wave delivery bags is the best patented disc packaging bag that is also preheated electrically, and is also water repellant (Dominosarabia, 2012). This ensured that customers received their ordered pizza when fresh and hot. Moreover, technological services where customers could place their orders via internet and interactive TV helped Domino’s reach many people in Saudi Arabia (Dominosarabia, 2012). In addition, customers could also order the pizza and pay using credit card online cash payment services. All this services are customers centered and are meant to easy business relationship. Domino’s Pizza Company in Saudi Arabia offered varieties of products to its customers. This is mostly designed as Domino’s Pizza customer’s package that is composed of five unique pizza crusts including crunch thin crust; cheese burst double decker, New York crust and extreme edge pizza (Dominosarabia, 2012). In addition to this Domino’s also offered various types of pizza toppings product to their customers. Some of this toppings include; tuna extreme, BBQ chicken, aloha chicken, prawn sensation, extravaganza and many other types of toppings (Dominosarabia, 2012). Domino’s Pizza Company also allowed their customers to customize the ingredients and toppings they wish to have on their pizza. This is not all the other product that must accompany the pizza is the signature pizza sauce. There are three varieties of signature pizza sauce including; Spicy sambal sauce, top secret sauce and domino’s signature sauce (Dominosarabia, 2012). It should be noted that apart from the pizza, Domino’s also serves a number of side order meals such as hot spicy spaghetti bolognese, creamy custard puff desert, banana kaya desert and many other types (Dominosarabia, 2012). There are also varieties of drinks and beverages offered including coca cola, fruit tree fruit juices and many others (Dominosarabia, 2012). Quality Management It is prudent to note that Domino’s Company success was geared by the quality management system which is focused and precise on success. For quality management, Domino’s employed Park City Group demand planning module, a tool that helped the company management in completing the need analysis and also in relishing all planning solutions (Dominosarabia, 2012). The team was also vitally used in management of inventories and also aided in advancing the time phased replenishment (Dominosarabia, 2012). Notable to mention is that, this group allowed more time for making strategic decision instead of manually putting orders together. For example, the planning management group will on Monday review the previous week’s data, assessing exceptions and determining how accurate they had predicted (Dominosarabia, 2012). By Tuesday, depending on the previous week updated forecast, the planners work is to project the new week’s distribution and transmit the information to their Dominos ERP system (Dominosarabia, 2012). By Wednesday, the transmitted orders is confirmed and freight orders process kicks off which ensures that supplies reach distribution centers on time. This is the example of how effective the management of Domino’s Company operates. This strategy helps the company to streamline operations, improve quality services, saves time and money spent on planning (Dominosarabia, 2012). In addition to this, as part of quality services, Domino’s management have employee’s motivation plan that trains their employees to ensure that services they offer are of high quality.
