?Organizational Structure [N a m e] introduction Mission and vision of the organization defines the reasons for the existence of the organization. Clear mission and vision of the company help the organization to achieve its mission and vision. Organizational structure of any organization supports the employees towards achievements of organizational goals and in ensuring that a proper system and hierarchy is built so that tasks can be allocated and information can be transmitted from one to another. This report analyzes one of the leading medical centers of the country, Children’s Medical Center and how the mission and vision of Children’s Medical Center help towards offering better services and treating patients in a better way. Children’s Medical Center is among the top most pediatric hospitals of the country and the hospital is a non-profit organization operating in Dallas, Texas. Children’s Medical Center is also listed among the first few hospitals operating as an academic healthcare centers in Texas. The hospital offers treatment to pediatric patients from birth till the age of 18. The treatment varies from simple procedures to life- threatening conditions of the patients. The hospital has been affiliated with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center with the intention to conduct research to improve the health care in children (About Children's Medical Center). The hospital offers care to patients in need of kidney, heart, bone marrow, liver and heart transplant. Organizational culture has an important part to play in ensuring that a healthy environment is created and maintained within the organization. When a constructive environment is maintained within the organization, it helps everyone to participate towards achievements of the organizational goals. Children’s Medical Center has maintained a constructive environment that encourages teamwork and innovation and organizational culture of Children’s Medical Center has been an important aspect contributing towards the betterment of the overall performance of medical center This report analyzes the mission and vision of the medical center and explains how the hospital has been operating and it has been able to achieve its objectives. Also the report analyzes the organizational structure and how resources and tasks are allocated to achieve the overall mission and vision of the organization. Also the culture, values and beliefs of the organization have been defined and their relation with the organizational mission. In addition to this, the report analyzes the stakeholders of the organization and their role and then the report discusses about the services offered by the hospital and how the hospital has been able to provide high quality to different patients. Mission and vision Mission statement acts as a guiding tool for the whole management and helps the management to show them a path of what they should achieve. The main mission of hospital is to make life better for children (About Children's Medical Center) and the mission statement clearly explains the whole team of Children’s Medical Center that they have to work towards betterment of life of children. The main objective or reason for the existence of Children’s Medical Center is to provide healthy life to children and to treat them in the best possible manner. The objective of the child care center is to facilitate emotional, physical, and psychological needs of children and at the same time to offer better and healthy services. The hospital serves more than 528,000 patients each year and as the management has several plans to expand so this would improve the number of patients served each year. The vision of Children’s Medical Center is to become one of the most respected hospitals for children by providing the best care to children of not only Texas but other parts of the country as well. The management of the hospital has been very committed in meeting the vision and mission of the organization. In addition to this, the organizational culture encourages the whole team of Children’s Medical Center to achieve the vision. Organizational structure Organizational structure is important in helping the organization to grow and achieve its objectives. The overall responsibilities of Children’s Medical Center are on the governing body of the hospital. The governing body structure of the hospital identifies and explains the roles, responsibilities and relationship at different levels of the hospital. There are different managers of different departments and different departments have been formed to ensure that each department is able to perform its activities accordingly. The manager of each department has the responsibility to accomplish the targets and objectives of his particular department and he has the responsibility to allocate tasks within the department and define the flow of information. The managers of each department would be accountable for achievement of organizational goals and as each department would work towards achievement of their goals, the objectives of overall organization would be achieved. Roles and Responsibilities The largest campus of the hospital is in Dallas and the second most important location of the medical center is in Plano, Texas. In addition to this, there are several smaller units so that children from different areas are able to have proper treatment. Manager of each department has the responsibility to ensure that objectives of his department are achieved and as the objectives of each department are achieved it would ultimately result in the achievement of overall objectives of the organization. The manager has to properly allocate the resources and allocate and assigning the tasks to different individuals in order to ensure that the objectives of the department are achieved. Role of Leadership Leadership has an important role to play in the success of any organization as it is the leader who encourages teamwork in the organization and helps in creating and maintaining the organizational culture. As the leader leads from the front, it encourages other staff members of the organization to take different initiatives to accomplish their tasks. Also the leader formulates the broad strategies of the organization and then sub-strategies are devised considering the broad strategies. With such a culture, the role of leader is important as he needs to convince the whole team about the strategies so that they can participate in accomplishing the objectives and ensure that the objectives of the organization are achieved. Culture and values of organization The culture of any organization is very important in helping the organization to grow and at the same time, it helps the organization to achieve its objectives and mission. The culture of Children’s Medical Center has played an important part in its success and to ensure that the hospital is able to achieve what it has been striving for, management has been continuously evaluating their performance. The culture of the hospital has played an important role in ensuring that children are provided proper facilities and services in Texas as well as in other parts of the country wherever the hospital has been operating and the values of the hospital has allowed the whole team and staff of Children’s Medical Center to work towards the betterment of children suffering from different diseases particularly those who are pediatric patients. Values, beliefs and culture of the hospital have encouraged the whole team to be innovative in their approach and to use their creativity in accomplishing their tasks and in offering quality services to patients. The hospital ensures that the services offered are more valuable than the project and this indicates that satisfying customers and ensuring that patients are treated in the best possible manner is of the ultimate goal of the employees. The team of Children’s Medical Center encourages people to take initiatives to make the life better of children and they ensure that with their services children patients coming to medical center are given proper facilities and treatment along with exceptional service. Stakeholders of the organization Stakeholders of any organization have an important role to play in the success or failure of the organization. Stakeholders are defined as any party which directly or indirectly affects the business or company and the major stakeholders of Children’s Medical Center would include governmental agencies particularly related to health and safety, patients particularly pediatric patients, suppliers providing different medicines and equipments to the hospitals, employees, community or society, shareholders and creditors. Because relationship with the stakeholders is critical for the success of any organization and therefore it is significant for Children’s Medical Center to build and maintain good relationship so that the operations of the hospital are not hurt and hospital can smoothly serve different patients. Because stakeholders could influence the operations of the organization and therefore by maintaining good and healthy relationships, Children’s Medical Center could further improve their services. Services In order to achieve the objectives of the organization services offered by any company have an important role to play. The services offered by Children’s Medical Center have played a significant role in making the name of the hospital and helping numerous children to get treatment successfully. Many patients have been treated by the hospital successfully and the credit for this success goes to whole team of the medical center who have been dedicated and committed in providing quality services and treatment. The credit for high quality treatment offered by the medical center should not only be given to the doctor and nursing staff of the hospital but also to the top management of the hospital and it can be said that the high quality of service has been because of the quality leadership, proper flow of information, organizational structure, mission and vision and objectives that the organization have to achieve and maintain. Therefore the whole team of the medical center has to be appreciated as they always ensure that proper treatment is given to every child so that their life becomes better. conclusion Any organization cannot achieve success without proper mission, vision and clearly defined objectives. Organizational structure of the organization helps in accomplishing the missions of the company and regardless of the what the product or service the organization offers, organizational structure can become a hurdle or it can act as a guiding force towards the achievement of organizational goals. Children’s Medical Center is one organization that has been serving and providing treatment to many children over the years with the mission of improving the life better. Organizational structure of Children’s Medical Center has been helpful in achieving the targets as responsibility of proper allocation of tasks and resources has been given to the managers of each department and they are supposed to achieve the objectives of their department which in turns helps in the achievement of the organizational goals. Also the organizational culture encourages everyone in the hospital to help other members as well as patients as the culture promotes team work and innovation.
