Action Steps

The process of implementation of a school’s vision, mission, and values is not an easy task. Various action plans should be taken with the respective stakeholders for the plan to be successful. For instance, parents, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and students are significant stakeholders. The above stakeholders play an essential role in the implementation of classroom or school activities. As such, they should be involved in the day to day planning of the school or classroom activities. Therefore, the following action plans will play an essential role in the process of implementing the vision and mission statements;

  • Informing the stakeholders

As mentioned above, teaching, non-teaching staff, parents, and students form the basis of the school's significant stakeholders. Before any plan is implemented, they should be the first people to be informed. As a result, the first step should be to inform the vision and mission statements' stakeholders. They should first give their contribution, which should be added to the plan. Kriaučiūnienė and Targamadzė (2019) have affirmed that most of the schools ignore the action plans which are essential in the plan. Therefore, the first step should be sending a memo to all the four stakeholders and informing them of the plan.

  • Calling a meeting to look at the core values of the plan

After the stakeholders have received the memo, they should be prepared to air out their views concerning the plan. The meeting involves coming up with the best ways to actualize the plan and collect views that should be added despite the designed mission. The action plan is essential because it forms the foundation of the stakeholders understanding more about the school (Damons & Wood, 2020). However, not everything that will be aired will be assembled into the plan. There will be consideration of the issues after the meeting.

  • Visualizing the actual requirements of the plan

Visualizing the actual requirements and features of the plan is the final action plan. For example, at this part of the meeting, we will come up with a presentation of how things will be done and how this whole plan will be implemented. The presentation in terms of the expectations from the major stakeholders that is the students, will be discussed. Besides, all the actions will be communicated at this stage and how the students are expected to respond to them. Therefore, this will form an essential part of the plan of the project.

Time plan

Every plan must have a schedule on how the activities will be done to cover all the required actions. Taking enough time is much significant as it will provide room for new ideas. However, the time to be taken has to be short for this activity because we have many stakeholders, and it is a school. The actual time plan for this event will take three months. Three months was the best time plan because we will be able to gather information from the external environment. As such, the school has developed a plan that will cover the meetings and the details of the meetings that will be conducted. The essential activities that will involve the parents will be conducted in the first month, and the rest will be done towards the end of the session. Therefore, the timing was done based on the availability and reliability of the major stakeholders in the school.

Alternatively, students and the whole staff were not so much considered in the first month's timing because they are all available in the school. Parents were invited during the academic days, which will help them as they won't lose much of their time. The plan is essential as it ignores no one during the process i.e., the non-teaching staff.

For instance, through the creation of values that enhance peace among the different cultures in the school. The best performing education centers in the world have highly valued education and respected the cultures in and outside the school (Damons & Wood, 2020). Through teamwork and unity, the goals and objectives of the school will be successful. As such, every stakeholder should be allowed to participate in the plan. Thus, the roles of everybody who participates will be highlighted as shown below;

  • Students

The students are the most essential in this plan because the plan has been developed for their future. The students have two significant roles in the plan, which forms the most essential and critical parts. They will give primary perceptions concerning the plan. However, their views will be analyzed, and later a solid solution will be implemented. Also, because they are the primary stakeholders, they will ensure that the plan goes through for a better future. Many institutions ignore students' perspectives and decisions in most of the mission and vision statements (Karacharovskiy & Shkaratan, 2020). The play an essential role as they are the key implementers in the plan. Therefore, they should be involved.

  • Parents

Parents are also very essential in this project plan. They are the financial supporters of the students as well as the school. They will have a significant role in approving the planned project and add some of their opinions. For instance, they will have a significant role in ensuring that what will be planned will be implemented. Most of the management systems fall short in these issues. This is the primary reason as to why there meeting was scheduled early in the first month. Therefore, we will ensure that the parents or guardians take part in the process entirely.

  • Teachers

Teachers will also have a pivotal role to play in the new project plan of the school. More especially, the fact that the program positively impacts the teachers and students cannot be ignored. Their consideration is essential in the creation of a plan that will accommodate every culture to promote equity. Teachers have a significant responsibility in handling the students to ensure that they embrace the new vision and mission statements' objectives. Also, the teachers will be in the committee of approving and ensuring that the students' ideas are well considered in the plan.

  • Non-teaching staff

Non-teaching staff is a department that has been ignored in most of the vision and mission statements in many schools. They are critical as they also interact with the students daily. Thus, they have a significant influence than even teachers. They should also feel included in the planning of the school. Research by Karacharovskiy & Shkaratan (2020) has affirmed that most schools do not factor in the ideas from the non-teaching staff unless they are from the board. Ignorance has positively impacted equity and cultural consideration in many schools. As such, they end up destroying the plans in most of the schools. This mission statement will help make cultural and equity measures in the mission and vision statement.

Part C: Standards Alignment

Standard 1: Mission, Vision, and Core Values

The leaders in education must ensure that the mission and vision statements have followed the required procedures to ensure equality and educational success. Therefore, the plan has involved all the stakeholders, who are also the school leaders, to ensure that every student has an equal opportunity. More especially, the system has not only accommodated academic success but also majored in the cultural and unity aspects of the whole school environment. The school is also not based on the academic aspects but on how the students can relate to each other outside school. Our mission has factored all the above aspects of leadership.

Alternatively, the core values have been based on integrity, honesty, and transparency, which are the critical leadership elements in society. The values not only apply to the students but all the schools ("Practices of Instructional Supervision in Secondary Schools of Bale Zone of Oromia Region", 2020). The fact that we have involved both the internal and external environment surrounding shows that the mission, vision, and core values have accommodated society's values. Also, the strategic factors have been considered in coming up with the school's values and mission statements.

Standard 3. Equity and Culturally Responsiveness

Under equity and cultural responsiveness, the values, vision, and mission statements have ensured that each student is treated equally and given an equal opportunity. For example, the school has employed equity through how the actions are planned to be done. More significantly, every student's culture will be respected, and its value will be considered in the school. Also, through the mission, every student will be granted equal access to the school's resources. For example, through the new statements and values, the students will not only learn academically but morally and culturally.

The contribution of the students to the outside society was considered in the mission statement. The students' cultural diversity will be highly considered in the school's growth objectives (Musah, 2020). For this reason, the external society was considered in the process of developing the best mission statements. Thus, it will be easy for students to perform well in the external society if they are taught on the best values at school. Also, in the leadership patterns, it will be easy as the cultural aspects will be factored in the school's core values.

Standard 8d: Meaningful Engagement of Families and Communities

Participation in family and community work is essential for the growth of a school. The core values have highly mentioned all the major ways in which the creation of mission and vision has involved society. Besides, acceptance of their input to the progress of the school is essential. Besides, the fact that schooling is based not only on academic performance but also on how it is involved in society activities. Therefore, the engagement is meaningful and adds value to the students based on the school's core values.

Standard 9a

The section mainly highlights the significant ways in which the school should be managed to ensure that every process is perfect for the students' benefit. The operations that the vision entails are supported by the events and actions that school gets involved in. Therefore, the mission and vision will be supported by the school events and leadership process.
