My Funeral PlanA. Obituary Obituary to be sent to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, St. Louis, MO and the News Tribune, Jefferson City, MO Nally, Betty C. of Henley, MO, has gone home to live with the Lord on Sunday, December 25, 2025, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Frank Nally, Sr.; dear daughter of the late Ed and Evelyn Kempker; devoted mother of Frank X. Nally, Jr. and Noel (Eric) Schreimann and cherished grandmother of Victoria, Breanna and Braden; dear sister of Gary (Elaine) Kempker and Ed (Dottie) Kempker.

Betty is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Betty was a Chaplain working with the Hospice. Her life was dedicated to her family and community outreach. Betty started three non-profit organizations. Her first organization is Operation Search which donates 10 million dollars of food to the poor. Her next non-profit is Second Chance which gives theatrical presentations to grade and high school students on issues affecting their lives. Star was her last non-profit which is an organization that sets up support groups within high schools concerning alcohol and drug abuse.

Betty received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Lincoln University and became a Chaplain in 2012. A memorial service will be held at Windsor Crossings at a date to be announced. B. Eulogy The eulogy should be read by either my son or daughter. About the life of my Mom, there is one thing you can say, and that is she didn’t stop living for the Lord. As she always told us, the biggest regret was that she did not understand the importance of accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior until after she was 50 years of age.

Her determination in life was to be the most loving mother and grandmother. The joy of her life besides her children was her grandchildren. Every moment she spent with them was one of the most precious and joyous times in her life. She loved them so much. Now that she is gone her legacy consists of loving her family, trying hard to give to the community and loving the Lord with all she had. She prayed every day for people she ran into that they would accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Mom never wanted us to be sad when she passed away because she was going to her final Home which she knew would be the most wonderful part of her journey.

So please join me in singing one of her favorite songs He Will Rise Again. C. Organ Donation In 2008, both my husband and I made arrangements with the Washington University School of Medicine to donate our bodies to the research department. We knew this is what our Lord wanted us to do. We had to fill out a form and have it signed in the presence of two witnesses and signed by the witnesses as well. Return the signed copy to Washington University and they asked that we keep a copy in our personal papers.

Both Frank and I sat down with our children to help them understand our wishes to make sure they could carry out our wishes. The University let us know that they reserved the right to refuse the admission of bodies donated to the program or to refuse anybody at the time of death. The possible areas of them refusing the body can be communicable diseases such as AIDS, Hepatitis B, and C, extensive damage due to the accident, suicide, extreme obesity, etc. Phillips Funeral Home must file a Notification of Death form and the Certificate of Death.

A copy of the Notification of Death must accompany the body when delivered to Washington University School of Medicine. Washington University School of Medicine uses the donated bodies to assist medical students in learning about the human body. Frank’s body was a gold mine for them because his disease affected only 1% of the Nation. They could only guarantee the eyes would be the only organ that would not be donated. They use all other organs for research. D. Funeral Arrangements I would like to have a Memorial Service since my body will have been donated to Washington University School of Medicine.

They also take care of remains through cremation and have a special place reserved for these remains. This part was not important to our family since we know the body is just a shell used to host our soul. The Memorial Service would consist of asking everyone to attend the service in anything but black. I would want my Minister, Greg, to officiate the service. The songs asked for the choir and band to sing would be Three Wooden Crosses, Come Now to Worship, He Will Rise Again. If at all possible, I would love for the Windsor’s Children’s Choir to sing Shine Jesus Shine and God is an Awesome God.

I would leave the time in which these songs are sung up to the Director. My special wish is to have my children and grandchildren participate in whatever facet of the service the Pastor would agree too. Since there is nobody, there would be no need for: a casket, pallbearers, tombstone, etc. Contact: Phillips Funeral Home 5 South Oak Street Eldon, MO Phone: (573) 392-5621 Total Expenses of the Funeral would be the following: • Basic Services: $1,835 • Transport arrangements: $ 395 • $3.

94 a mile from Jefferson City, Mo to Ofallon, MO $ 475 • Acknowledgement Cards (per 100): $ 270 • Memorial Book: $ 75 • Memorial Handouts (per 100): $ 405 TOTAL: $3,455 E. Cultural Focus We each carry a gift within us - the gift of life. It is the one donation you can give to make renewed life possible for countless others all over the world. At Science Care, the need for your whole body donation is more important than ever. With the world changing around us every day, the rising advancements in medical technologies are endless.

As an alternative to cremation or funerals, a no-cost donation of one’s body provides enormous benefits to medical research, training and professional education for a brighter future for all. Both my husband and I thought outside the box. I strayed away from the Catholic faith of which I'm not sure would have blessed this approach. Being a born-again Christian has given me more of a free spirit thought on what to do with the body once one is dead. I wanted to be able to donate my body either for organ donation or for research.

Washington University, one of the most elite Colleges in the United States, was looking for people to help support their body donation program. Since I chose this direction, I decided to have a Memorial Service to give everyone the opportunity to support and meet my beautiful children and grandchildren. The Uniform Anatomical Gift Act, passed in 1968, created guidelines to help to do just that. As long as one is 18 years or older and in sound mind, he or she donate their body to the school of one’s choice.

Overview of the cultural focusWakes are overnight stays held at funerals especially on the eve of the burial day. This night is believed to be the last night on earth for the late, his friends and family members, therefore, feel obliged to offer him or her, the night long vigil (Mason 121). This is a practice that is only common among Christians, Muslims burry their dead immediately after they are pronounced dead. Wakes were initially meant to be moments when the friends and family came together and commemorated their lives with the dead.

With the spread of Christianity, Christians started using these moments to have services in which they prayed for the souls of the late and to pray for guidance for those they left behind by them. The services have become so common that others carry them out in churches while others carry them out in homes and places designated for them by the families of the late (Mayer 56).Egyptians believed that the bodies of their dead were to be used again by the very dead in their eternal rest. This way, they thus devised a way, of preserving the bodies; mummification.

They drained the bodies of all possible liquid and air then covered them tightly in strips of sheets. The bodies survived for millions of years in good shape and this was the origin of body preservation. Given the differing funeral schedules, some people may have their programming running for weeks, a time within which the body of the dead should still be fresh and in good shape (Hamilton 20).The modern societies came up with ways of preserving their dead with such chemicals as formalin being used to keep the bodies fresh for longer.

Electrocuting the dead drains all moisture and air from the bodies thus making them to last remarkably long.Works citedHamilton, Sue L. Mummies. Edina, Minn: ABDO Pub. The company, 2011.
