In this case, a lot of things should be put into consideration in order to ensure that one secures this opportunity. Individuals have different personal experiences which sourcing for internship and graduate opportunities in an organisation. This paper, therefore, seeks to give a personal insight of this experience while sourcing for a particular internship opportunity. Task 1: Sourcing your internship or job opportunity I sourced for my internship opportunity by carrying out searches in different internship and graduate opportunity sites. In this case, I carried out these searches in Internship.com, Career Central and other sites using different search options such as different location and companies. I narrowed down my search to the skill requirement and education expertise knowledge requirement of this internship and graduate opportunity requirements (Ackah and Heaton, 2013). For my case I explored a whole range of different internship opportunities before finally choosing the internship opportunity, I finally decided to go for. For this particular internship opportunity, I gauged the significant gains I would benefit from after the internship experience and my ventful career growth. Firstly, I did a self-assessment while I was sourcing for an internship opportunity . In this step, I reviewed by interest and goals as I aligned them with the available internship position looking whether they have met both the long-term and short-term goals. I also considered whether I needed an internship position where I was to be paid and whether the distance where I would carry out the internship was conducive for me. The second step I employed was researching and networking. In this step, my research was based on the long-term and short-term goals which I intend to accomplish at the end of the internship programme (Werner and DeSimone, 2009). Under this step I carried out research on various company profiles, industry positioning and whether it is a credit related internship programme. Thirdly, I embarked on gathering information,in this step, I contacted companies which I saw aligned with those of my internship experience, inquiring whether they were offering any internship programmes. Additionally, I also consulted the University internship coordinator for guidance on which opportunities I should go for based on my goals and intended achievement. Finaly I started applying for the chosen internship opportunities. I ensured that I knew all the requirements for this internship programme and highlighted them in both my cover letter and resume when applying for these opportunities (London and Mone, 1988). Eventually, I started following up the applications, my purpose was to ensure that the recruiter received all the required application information. Consequently I believe this is to show how interested I am in the internship position. Since this approach has proven to be quite successful previously i intend to use it in future. Unit reflection This unit has helped me develop a deeper understanding of Human Resource and its role in society. This unit has enabled me to develop close interest in Human Resource and my personal experiences thus giving me more information on this career path. On the other hand, this unit also taught me about contemporary Human Resource issues. It also taught me on the essence of ethical appreciation and responsible judgement in Human Resource. Through this unit I am able to appreciate the business environment more so the workforce management aspect (Baruch, 2006). I t has also enabled me to gain some basic knowledge on the elementary technical competence in Human Resource thus; I was able to learn the basics on transaction recording, closing and adjusting entries. Through this unit I have learnt to accept and appreciate critical thinking and creativity which generally fosters Human Resource and easy workforce management. Since the start of the semester I now have a more detailed knowledge of the Human Resource profession and all the requirements in this particular career. Through this unit I have been able to identify my weaknesses and strengths through a thorough personal insight which has translated to success in sourcing for my internship. In this case, the unit now covers more advanced issue on development of resumes and cover letter customised to apply for most jobs while fostering personal development (Harris, Pattie and McMahan, 2014).
