INTRODUCTION TO STUDY During the last two decades, organizations have grown significant concerns regarding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Through CSR, organizations have been describing their contributions to the community while balancing the organization’s impact on the environment. With the passage of time, organizations have extended their responsibilities towards CSR as it has helped the organizations to promote sustainable growth in the company’s core business activities.

Businesses have long pursued their single most dominant motive i.e. profit. Significant changes have been observed from earlier days to the modern world. One of the prominent changes includes the utmost attention towards the development of community and society. In simpler words, the concept of giving the society back has greatly impacted the profitability of the businesses in local and international markets. Today the profitability of the company is fueled through its attention to social responsibilities.

Due to this very reason, the organizations have shown an optimistic attitude towards CSR. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an essential concept and has gained popularity since 1970. With the passage of time, several activities have been associated with the concept of CSR including diversity management, community development, improvement in working conditions, financial investments for environmental sustainability, etc. In addition, several terms have been associated with the concept of CSR.

Some of the prominent concepts include Corporate Social Performance (Irina-Eugenia, Laura-Gabriela, and Cosmin-Silviu-Raul, 2010), Corporate Citizenship (Zadek, 2001), and Sustainable Business (Vogel, 2005).
