Global Issues in United Kingdom This search paper will talk about the global, cultural, political, economic and environmental issues found in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan. The three countries show significant progress in the world global and economic trends. They have set the trend to be followed globally by other countries, and also trade with the United States in numerous goods and services. The countries however face issues just like other countries that developed my interest. The paper will also offer suggestions to advance the global, cultural, political, economic and environmental issues in the three countries (Bevir, Oliver and Pauline 5). The United Kingdom is a highly successful food industry in the world. It majors in agricultural products; however, major factors affect the production, for example, the raw materials are imported from other countries with lower labor costs. The countries that supply United Kingdom with the raw materials and cheap labor are mainly the third world countries that face a price fluctuation due cost of inputs that generally affect the agricultural production in United Kingdom. Food production is a global issue because the consumers suffer price variations in food that is a primary commodity (Bevir, Oliver and Pauline 9). The cultural issue in United Kingdom is most commonly mistaken for England and Britain. However, the three countries have different cultures but similar, England and Britain make up the United Kingdom among other two. The people in United Kingdom are very polite while talking and observe courteous words like please or excuse me and expect everyone to be so. The United Kingdom is also famous for their love for football; it is considered a hobby that has attracted fame globally where we have tournaments like the English Premier League. The United Kingdom is legendary for the monarchy style of leadership. The monarchy has been a significant debate in other countries choosing their leaders through general elections and a democratic system. However, the United Kingdom still embraces monarchy where generations after generation are nurtured from the young age to become the next leaders (Bevir, Oliver and Pauline 11). The particular interest of this ruling family has influence over the decision made by the government. The economy of United Kingdom was profoundly affected by the 2008 economic slowdown that has brought about the high unemployment rate, contributed to the fall of rates of wages which has in turn caused lower standards of living. With low employment levels it means low production that is a global problem because the exports lower down. The United Kingdom has also received a lot of fines due to air pollution that is a major environmental issue. It brings about cancer and heart attacks that lead to multiple deaths (Bevir, Oliver and Pauline 15). I would like to join the production company in the United Kingdom because it would increase the level of outputs they sell. The improvements I would make in United Kingdom would be setting up a business to offer jobs for the citizens and, in the long run, improve the living standards. Global Issues in Germany The major global issue in Germany is diversity. The variety associated with integrating different cultures, races and sexes into one and not discriminating anyone because one does not share your beliefs. Germany has faced criticism from other nations due to discrimination. Racism affects me because I am unable to get a job in Germany in fear that I will not be accepted. The economy of Germany is booming better than other European countries, and this is a good thing for the country because there is high revenue. However, the country is in debt and debates whether to increase taxes or the savings to pay back the debts (Grande and Edgar 195). Germany faces a political issue with the election of Merkel, who did not receive the majority votes for her policy. Her party received most votes, but the voters did not support her policy that ignores the investment in infrastructure. Merkel’s election brought about controversy and opposition from her people and other political parties. A significant challenge lies in governing a country with so much opposition; this compromises the German position in European Union due to misplaced priorities. The cultural issue in Germany since the world war is trying to unify its people to work together. The people in Germany encounter problems with one another due to the different histories of the war. The German culture instills fear in many people due to the discrimination laws and the threat the country posed to the world (Grande and Edgar 133). Germany is famous for nuclear energy; this activity emits a lot of air pollution due to the different chemicals used to create the weapons. Germany is also famous for the production of pesticides that get into the water bodies and pollute the environment. I am connected to this environmental issue because products sold should be eco-friendly to all. I would come up with an institution that offers education on international relations that will educate the natives of Germany to adapt to different cultures, and encourage unity. The steps I would take to improve the issues is by helping United Nations talks to bond more with Germany and learn the different cultures so that discrimination can come to an end. I would also encourage the government to put heavy fines for pollution of the environment to discourage this act. Global Issues in Japan Japan has gained fame due to its electronic and car industries that are highly purchased globally. Japan experienced a global crisis by the destruction of a nuclear plant. This nuclear plant destruction brought about many deaths. The destructions were because Japan encountered the tsunami that was a global crisis killing a lot of people bringing to the world’s attention due to the big loss of people and property (Ward 65). The country still tries to recover from the global crisis and remain competitive in the world. Japan’s economy takes the third position the world after the World War II. Japan plays a significant role in the world because it provides substantial donations to other countries and also offers credit and capital worldwide. I am connected to the global issues because the United States uses the money provided by Japan for economic growth and donations in times of crisis. Also, most electronics are imported from Japan that assists in communication. Japan has a rich culture of hierarchies that integrate high social norms; the Japanese men are accustomed to working for one employer in their working lives. The culture demonstrates loyalty, and also a degree of workmanship that the man poses. It is the expectation that the young generation continues with the same culture. However, the young generation wants to be independent and do things differently. The political issue that the government faces is to meet the expenses of the aging society that still need the support of the government. To come up with ways to raise the fund is a significant challenge with resistance to raise the costs through taxes. Japan is an industrial country, due to the power plants present in Japan there is the emission of toxins that result in acid rain. Acid rain leads to corrosion of roofs, and metals and also the soil becomes infertile which pollutes the environment. There are laws set in place but have not been properly followed to ensure that this problem comes to an end. Carbon dioxide emitted into the air risks lung infection, and even cancer (Ward 65). The issues found in Japan connect to me because of the rigid culture that encourages the men to work for one person all their life. This culture limits my job opportunities in Japan that is among the world’s leading economy. I would come up with a sales company for electronics that is a fair employer to all without discrimination, and provides an opportunity to all interested parties with relevant qualifications. Also, I would highly advocate for the creation of fines to discourage the companies from polluting the environment, and offer tax relief to companies that comply with the anti-pollution laws. The United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan are major world powers that contribute substantially to the global economy. The issues that affect these countries affect other countries directly or indirectly. It is therefore, important to learn the global, political, cultural, economic and environmental issues that affect these countries, how they affect me as an individual, and how to improve on the issues. Unity is power; thus all nations should work together to improve the lives of its people, and the global economy at large. Work Cited "Global Issues Japan." Web. 20 Apr. 2015. .
